The answers to these questions are fairly straightforward, but depend on the individual needs of each potential attendee. Let’s explore some common questions about the benefits of attending industry trade shows and events for fleets, and hear some recommendations from the folks at Road Choice.

Q:  What is in it for me to attend a trade show?

A:  Many Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), parts suppliers, and vendors display at trade shows and they are often “one stop shops” to learn about these vendors’ products and services. Set goals and objectives before you go to ensure you visit all of the booths and network with the companies that will be most beneficial to you. If you don’t mind walking the floor quite a bit, attending the event can be very advantageous and minimize the amount of internet research you might otherwise perform.

Q: Which events are better – local, regional or national?

A: Each has its advantages. Local events are smaller in scale but allow more one-on-one time to ask and answer questions. Regional shows are larger in scale and offer more vendors. National shows will have the largest vendor count but also are more expensive with less one-on-one interaction.

Q: What is the single biggest takeaway folks should learn at trade shows?

A:  The heavy-duty truck market has a number of choices of truck makes and models, and parts and service offerings can vary greatly among OEMs. Trade shows provide a unique setting with every option in one room to allow you to  compare each option, often side-by-side, prior to purchase.
